How to Verify Account in OKEx

What documents are required?

Level one — basic ID

• In level one, users are required to enter their nationality, name and document identification number.

Level two — photo ID

• In level two, users are required to verify their identity with photo identification. They are also required to perform facial verification via Netverify.

Level three — disclaimer

• After passing the first two levels, users can read the disclaimer on OKEx’s mobile app or web page to complete the third level of identity verification.

How do I complete identity verification level 1?

OKEx asks you to verify your identity to perform certain tasks on the exchange. You might have seen this process of verification referred to as KYC (Know Your Customer), and we do this to keep the exchange safe from fraud and other illicit activities.

Without verification you can still use your account to deposit, but you will not be able to withdraw funds and your trading will be limited.

Level 1 asks you to verify your personal information so that we can increase your daily withdrawal limit to the equivalent of 200 BTC.

Go to the account profile icon, found in the top navigation bar. Click on the icon and choose Verification from the dropdown menu.

Choose Individual account if you are trading for your personal purposes. You’ll be asked for some combination of the following information, depending on your country:

• Nationality
• ID type
• ID number
• Legal first, middle, and last name

If you’ve input valid information, verification should happen immediately.

Choose Corporate account if you are trading on behalf of a company or organization. You’ll be asked for some combination of the following information, depending on your country:

• Nationality
• Company name
• Company registration number
• Date of incorporation
• Address and postal code
• Consent documentation

Information about legal representation, controller(s), and authorized account users

In the OKEx app, look for the profile icon in the app header. Tap on the icon, then choose Verification from the menu. Tap Verify and you’ll be asked for some combination of the following information, depending on your country:

• Nationality
• ID type
• ID number
• Legal first, middle, and last name

If you’ve input information correctly, verification should be instant and you’ll see a notification that you have been “Approved” for withdrawal.

How do I complete identity verification level 2?

Level 2 asks you to further verify your identity with photos. When you have verified, your daily withdrawal limit increases to the equivalent of 500 BTC.

【PC】

Go to the account profile icon, found in the top navigation bar. Click on the icon and choose Verification from the dropdown menu.

You should see a “Verified” status noted next to Level 1. If you do not, first complete Level 1 before moving to the next level. If you’re ready to proceed, you’ll be asked to submit the following:

• Photos of the front and back of your ID document
• A photo of your face

All photos will be taken at the time of verification, using your webcam or mobile phone. You will not be able to upload existing photos.

Unlike Level 1, Level 2 takes some time to process. You should receive your results within 3 days. If you haven’t heard from us in that time, contact support at [email protected].

In the OKEx app, look for the profile icon in the app header. Tap on the icon, then choose Verification from the menu. Tap Verify at Level 2.

Your phone may ask you to give permission to the app to take photos. Tap “Allow” to proceed. Next you’ll be asked to take photos of the following

• The front and back of your ID document
• Your face

All photos will be taken at the time of verification, using your mobile phone. You will not be able to upload existing photos.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are the daily withdrawal limits for users?

For daily withdrawal limits, identity verification is not required if users make a daily withdrawal of less than 10 BTC. Level one users may withdraw a maximum of 200 BTC per day. For both level two and three users, the daily withdrawal limit is 500 BTC.

What are the cumulative P2P transaction limits for users?

OKEx also allows users to buy crypto via peer-to-peer channels. There are cumulative P2P transactions limits for three levels of users — $500 for level one, $10,000 for level two and $100,000 for level three.

What is corporate account identity verification?

For corporate users, there are two levels of identity verification:

1. Basic
2. Advanced

Note that the requirements apply to institutions that do not support peer-to-peer trading.

For the first level of verification, companies are required to provide basic information — such as the country of registration, company name and company registration number. Details of the required documents can be found in the table below.

For the certificate of incumbency or annual return, institutions are required to provide the details and documents of the company’s directors and beneficiary shareholders in the previous fiscal year. Institutions are also required to provide documentary proof confirming the company’s shareholder structure, ownership and management.

Identity and proof of address are required for the actual controller, ultimate beneficiary owner and authorized account operator.
 

How long will it take to verify my identity?

OKEx verifies your identity to keep both your account and the exchange safe. Here what you can expect for each level of verification:

Level 1: You should get your result instantly, if you’ve correctly input your information.

Level 2: Can take up to 3 days. Please be sure to submit valid, unexpired documents.

Level 3: Can take up to 3 days. Please be sure to follow on-screen instruction to ensure your submission is accepted.
